Alan L. Stefaniak received his undergraduate degree with honors from Northwestern University and his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law (1973). Alan has served as Managing Partner of the firm. Alan is an accomplished litigator with an emphasis in construction law, including mechanic's lien and construction contract litigation. Among his numerous builder and contractor clients are the largest roofing contractor in the Chicago area and the largest design build landscape company in the country. Alan has represented the Adler Planetarium in construction arbitration. He also has expertise and broad experience in zoning and land use development law. Alan has written for the Illinois Bar Journal on zoning and land use matters and is a speaker for the National Business Institute and Lorman Educational Services on real estate and zoning issues. He is a past member of the Palatine Zoning Board of Appeals and served as Chairman of the Kildeer Plan Commission. Alan served as a trustee for the Village of Kildeer and Chairman of its Building and Zoning Committee. Currently, Alan is in his second term as Mayor of the Village of Kildeer.
